I’m not one for many words, and I’m not one to talk about myself…it feels awkward and weird. Plus, I’m a bit shy.
As a young girl, I used to love going to visit my grandparents and going through all the old family albums. One by one, my grandmother would tell me who was in the picture, which house they lived in, funny little stories about them, what they did for a career, how many children they had, how they lived, etc. She would sometimes have tears in her eyes, she would sometimes giggle while she was reliving the stories, but she would always have a smile on her face while looking at the pictures. One by one, I examined the faces of my ancestors in those images, intrigued by their stories. Their legacy.
Years later, I picked up my first camera. It didn’t take me long to realize that I had a very important tool that allowed me to tell stories with photographs. Not just my story, but other peoples stories. That was when Adrienne Comeau Photography was born, in 2009, and I have been capturing snippets of families legacies ever since.
